This is especially true for our Skin Nectar, Mineral Tinted Moisturizer, and Lip & Cheek Colour, which are designed to melt effortlessly onto your skin. While this makes for a beautifully smooth application, it also means that excessive heat can cause melting or separation.

Fortunately, these natural changes are completely reversible with a few simple steps.

HOW TO FIX MELTING & SEPARATION

WHAT HAPPENS?

If exposed to heat, Skin Nectar may melt and separate, resulting in a grainy texture due to shea butter beads consolidating into small clusters.

HOW TO FIX IT:

Gently reheat the product until fully liquefied. Use a warm surface like a baseboard heater or place it on an electric stovetop on low heat for a few minutes. Avoid overheating, as excessive heat can reduce the botanical benefits of the ingredients.

Stir thoroughly to evenly redistribute the oils and shea butter.

Quickly cool the product to restore its original consistency. Place it in the freezer for ~30 minutes to reset the texture.

MINERAL TINTED MOISTURIZER

WHAT HAPPENS?

Heat exposure can cause the formula to separate, resulting in a grainy texture with oil and shea butter separating.

HOW TO FIX IT:

Gently reheat the product until fully liquefied. Use a warm surface like a baseboard heater or stovetop on low heat.

Shake vigorously while in a liquid state to ensure all ingredients are evenly mixed.

Quickly cool in the freezer for ~30 minutes. Pro-tip: in freezer position cap-side down to prevent oil from pooling at the top.

LIP & CHEEK COLOUR

WHAT HAPPENS?

If left in a hot car or direct sunlight, the volatile coconut wax base can completely melt, causing the product to vanish or leak.

HOW TO FIX IT:

Unfortunately, once melted and spilled, it cannot be recovered.

To prevent this, store in cool, shaded areas and avoid leaving it in your car or near heat sources.

In the future, we plan to reformulate this product with beeswax for added stability while keeping it as natural as possible.
